My sculpture was inspired by Diego Rivera's painting of the flower vendor. My plan for this piece was to create vase and then add the plants on the side of the vase, turning a flat image into a physical object. The hardest part of making was shaping the clay into a vase, as it took a lot of time to achieve the right form for the plants to be placed on the sides of the vase. My goal was to transform this flat surface painting into a D sculpture. Diego Rivera traveled from Mexico to Europe, where he studied art in countries like Spain and France, learning various art styles. he returned to Mexico, he developed his own style, focusing on colors and different shapes. I was to Diego Rivera because his artwork is so distinct to what I've seen from other artists.

monster reflection

what went well with my monster was that it didn't break while it was getting fired and my idea that I was thinking about during the process of me making the monster was kind of similar to the out come of it in a way I also switched monsters to an easier one for me to make and I thought that was very helpful for me because the one I had before was very hard so I'm glad that I switched. But what I would do differently is definitely focus more on the shape and adding different things to the piece because I wasn't very happy with the outcome of the monster I made and I would also focus more on what the color would be after it being done glazed and fired because I would have made many changes to the color of the monster.
